Here some articles that I have read or not. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">links and notes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Some people are beginning to notice that if AI succeeds in making people redundant, that no-one will have the money to buy their stuff. Here&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/abs\/2603.20617\">a white paper<\/a>, &#8220;The AI Layoff Trap&#8221;, by <a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/search\/econ?searchtype=author&amp;query=Falk,+B+H\">Brett Hemenway Falk<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/arxiv.org\/search\/econ?searchtype=author&amp;query=Tsoukalas,+G\">Gerry Tsoukalas<\/a>, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.goldmansachs.com\/insights\/goldman-sachs-exchanges\/a-skeptical-look-at-ai-investment\">A skeptical look at AI investment<\/a> a podcast at Goldman Sachs Exchange which they categorise as a discussion\/comment stream. I have not yet listened to it. The article is well highlighted on issues such as developer productivity and ROI, both of which it would seem are negative. Sometimes, it can be hard to guess what kind of bubble you\u2019re living through until it pops and you find out the hard way.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>I was pointed at these <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/8enXRDlWguU?si=b-Zepw9Sq95H8OL9\">by Karen Hao in her interview on Novara Media<\/a>. She mentions water as another critical resource. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The General Intellect<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In December, I came across some further articles on the value of AI and rents to be paid for training material, several of these are written by <a href=\"https:\/\/bsky.app\/profile\/edans.bsky.social\"><strong>Enrique Dans<\/strong>, here on bluesky<\/a> or on <a href=\"https:\/\/edans.medium.com\/\">Medium<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/enrique-dans\/the-race-for-ai-sovereignty-infrastructure-identity-and-independence-f4dfcb2eb60e\">The race for AI sovereignty infrastructure identity and independence<\/a> by Dans, he concludes, &#8220;AI sovereignty is neither a technological whim nor an exercise in national pride: it is a reminder that if you don\u2019t control the models that speak for you, you don\u2019t control the future you will have to live in.&#8221; Much of his emphasis is on language and culture, just as mine is on accuracy within a regulatory context.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/enrique-dans\/ai-is-not-theft-the-uk-just-got-it-right-28850f4c80a3\">AI is not theft the UK just got it right<\/a>, by Dans on Medium, importantly Dans states that, &#8220;Let\u2019s be clear: training is not copying. <strong>Copyright <\/strong>protects two specific acts \u2014 reproduction and distribution. An AI model does neither.&#8221; He congratulates Parliament in not defining training as copying. The IAPP does <a href=\"https:\/\/iapp.org\/news\/a\/why-friction-around-ai-copyright-liability-is-likely-to-continue?mkt_tok=MTM4LUVaTS0wNDIAAAGdIM4UE-G-5C4cCEYMLwcT7pmWR4NevIxtqnzhe8zjhyAAT4OGlKpnT7HE7YWMIu2Rv6erCEmwbjLVXyxrL4OBCHKsnGL2CtDkR2VFDFxFHos9\">not think the issue will go away<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ninza7.medium.com\/saas-is-being-eaten-alive-new-data-shows-how-ai-agents-are-killing-the-subscription-model-523f6cdf70d9\">SAAS is being eaten alive. New data shows how AI agents are killing the subscription model<\/a> suggesting that SAAS systems are vulnerable to competition from AI bots and massively improved programming productivity.
