      Finance<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      To be done, the financial position and its treatment is complex this year. however, Ester’s analysis can be summarised as follows<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In 2025 the Labour Party reported a deficit of \u00a32.56m compared with a deficit of \u00a33.76m in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Crucially, net assets are at their lowest level since 2013, and the Party has supplemented its cashflow with asset sales. Notably, the Party has changed the presentation of the Pension asset\/liability, shifting a pension surplus to current assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The auditors gave the Party a clean bill of financial health and agreed with its going concern assumption.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

      I wrote a blog post on the membership numbers<\/a> which were down at the end of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      I quoted the report, \u201cAs at 31 December 2025 the total individual membership of the Party was 264,754 (2024: 333,235).\u201d That\u2019s a 21% decline on the year and over 50% from when Starmer took over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
