    The speeches provoked me to look up some things, <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. How important is AI to British Industry?<\/a> from google AI perspectives; quite, it would seem. I also need to revisit how does AI diminish innovation<\/a> from google AI perspectives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. How much food is imported, as a % over the last 10 years<\/a>, it seems according to Sir Bernard Jenkins that international trade is not that important, but we import nearly 50% of our food and nearly 70% of our fruit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Has the City of London grown in terms of jobs since 2020?<\/a> It seems the answer “Yes”<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Jenkin <\/a>and Kruger argue that innovation is key to growth not trade, and quoted the Nobel Economics prize of 2025 on innovation as a source of growth<\/a>. (There are others, but this is what they chose to quote.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Mike Wood<\/a>, speculated on the cost of re-entry<\/a> and I asked google gemini, who come out with a lower figure than him but noted that the UK is still paying the “divorce bill”. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      The debate referenced a statement by the Prime Minister, earlier in the day. This is available on video<\/a>, via Reuters and via a press release<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
