Here are some\u00a0 links I find useful.<!--more--><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Their site, <a href=\"https:\/\/umbraco.com\">umbraco.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li>What <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Umbraco\">Wikipedia says!<\/a>\u00a0What they say includes the statement, &#8220;It is written in\u00a0<a title=\"C Sharp (programming language)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/C_Sharp_(programming_language)\">C#<\/a>\u00a0and deployed on Microsoft based infrastructure. Since version 4.5, the whole system has been available under an\u00a0<a title=\"MIT License\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/MIT_License\">MIT License<\/a>.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20231203213251\/https:\/\/cms2cms.com\/blog\/move-umbraco-wordpress-6-steps-success\/\">How to Move Umbraco to WordPress. 6 Steps to Success<\/a>, written by a migration (to wordpress) as a service offering, to evaluate the cost of exit. They have <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/cms2cms-umbraco-to-wp-migrator\/\">implemented this as a wordpress plugin<\/a>.\u00a0 They make interesting comments on strengths and weaknesses.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Cloud<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Umbraco offer a cloud service, need to check what the platform is.<\/li>\n<li>Here is an azure template for Umbracco stored on github<\/li>\n<li>There seems to be at least <a href=\"https:\/\/aws.amazon.com\/marketplace\/pp\/B01MDUKR77\">one AMI on AWS.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Installing Umbraco<\/h3>\n<p>It seems to need Visual Studio.\u00a0&#x1f60b;\u00a0Obviously not a killer, but it&#8217;s illustrative of the skill level needed to administer the system.<\/p>\n<h3>Look &amp; Feel\/Themes<\/h3>\n<p>There&#8217;s a lot of flexibility in the look and feel via themes.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pinterest.co.uk\/uskinned\/responsive-umbraco-theme-designs\/\">https:\/\/www.pinterest.co.uk\/uskinned\/responsive-umbraco-theme-designs\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/themeforest.net\/tags\/responsive\">https:\/\/themeforest.net\/tags\/responsive<\/a>, the equivalent of the wordpress theme library.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>These were found for me, the hyperlinks go to preview sites<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20221222055641\/http:\/\/fmedias.com\/machli\/index2.html\">machli<\/a>,<\/em> beautiful and very visual, maybe to so for a web 1.0 audience<\/li>\n<li><em>extra clean<\/em>, good, nearly reached its end of life date in terms of look and feel<\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.themenesia.com\/themeforest\/buildpro\/sidenav_index.html\">buildpro<\/a><\/em>, good, maybe too visual<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>And I found this,<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>smart start<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>All these need a slight re-purposing, our calls to action become blog articles, our longer term initiatives become projects and web features become services.<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I need to help appraise an Umbraco project.
