When I rescued it, I copied it to the blog and then decided it would be better on the wiki. I made <em>a major rewrite in 2021<\/em> as I considered writing alternate style sheets for some old sites that I enjoy using. Here as ever are my notes on stylish\/user styles.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I was originally looking at applying a responsive stylesheet to my own blogs, to improve the UX, particularly on the phone. I now use WordPress and the theme publishers on the whole solve this problem.<\/p>\n<p>I have made <a href=\"https:\/\/userstyles.org\/styles\/205760\/stylish-with-test-davelevy-info-1\">a new style shee<\/a>t for <a href=\"http:\/\/test.davelevy.info\/\">test.davelevy.info<\/a>, I need to apply the style to the page using the firefox extension; I am hoping that my problem is a propagation delay. The style is now on the internet.It is obtained by using the install button on the style&#8217;s home page.<\/p>\n<p>I now need to experiment with making the menu appear\/disappear.<\/p>\n<p>I need to now consider merging my two accounts on the site. Oops! The old one has the better display name.<\/p>\n<p>I\u00a0might however<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>write a user style for the <a href=\"https:\/\/neverwintervault.org\/\">NWN Vault<\/a>, whose visual style, I find old fashioned and cluttered.<\/li>\n<li>The same applies to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lrd.org.uk\/\">http:\/\/www.lrd.org.uk\/<\/a> although it may not have the &lt;div&gt; statements, but it could do with the help.<\/li>\n<li>Someone\u2019s written a geospaces stylesheet, maybe I should learn to apply it to test.davelevy.info.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/davelevy.info\/wiki\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/womenrug-unsplash-sunnyng-cropped-w650.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5822 size-full\" title=\"I found this on unsplash using the keyword stylish\" src=\"https:\/\/davelevy.info\/wiki\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/womenrug-unsplash-sunnyng-cropped-w650.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/davelevy.info\/wiki\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/womenrug-unsplash-sunnyng-cropped-w650.png 650w, https:\/\/davelevy.info\/wiki\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/womenrug-unsplash-sunnyng-cropped-w650-300x203.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>How I did it.,<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Make a CSS file<\/li>\n<li>Make a screen shot .png (this has size limits &lt; 200k).<\/li>\n<li>Read <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/stylish-userstyles\/stylish\/wiki\/Preventing-global-styles\">this<\/a>, and use one of its tips on inhibiting global styles, I used the @-moz-document domain(example.com) {} rune<\/li>\n<li>Upload the style to the site, making a style web page<\/li>\n<li>Use the web page to install the style and the extension widget to turn it off.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This page was originally\u00a0written in 2010, and may have been posted to the snipsnap bliki.
