Who knew?<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The review\u00a0 is every five years, and the UN reports are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ohchr.org\/en\/hr-bodies\/upr\/gb-index\">available<\/a> on their web site. The last one on the UK was done in 2017, so we should get one this year. The\u00a0 EHRC have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equalityhumanrights.com\/our-work\/our-human-rights-work\/universal-periodic-review-upr?return-url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.equalityhumanrights.com%2Fsearch%3Fkeys%3Duniversal%2Bperiodic%2Breview\">a view<\/a> on the process, and are <a href=\"https:\/\/humanrightstracker.com\/en\/un-treaty\/upr\/\">reporting<\/a> on its progress. The UN Review will take place in November.<\/p>\n<p>The Law Society have <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20240225215054\/https:\/\/www.lawsociety.org.uk\/Contact-or-visit-us\/Press-office\/Press-releases\/Alarm-bells-rung-at-UN-over-UK-rights-record\">submitted<\/a> evidence, critical of the Government&#8217;s direction of travel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The United Nations conducts a quinquennial review of its member states compliance with the UN Declaration on Human Rights.
