It’s been a while, but I am planning to return, probably by Eurostar<\/a>.

  1. Using the metro, trains, trams and buses<\/a>, passes can be bought online<\/a> or at RATP stations and Gare du Nord, near platforms 7-9 and the international arrivals, as can Carnets, and here’s the metro Map<\/a>, 🙄 They also do multi-day passes<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Their pass system seems to be called Navigo, and I now have a navigo card and the IDF Mobilities<\/a> app which I need to work out how to use. It may need a french ip address on the phone. This page explains how to buy a journey<\/a> using the phone, they have a youtube video channel<\/a> (in French). <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. About Hotel Stars<\/a>, which helped me make my saved Paris hotels<\/a> at Expedia, also Hotel De Varenne<\/a> at Expedia, or their own site.<\/a>, looks nice but not cheap.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Best to go via Eurostar<\/a>, and arrive at Gare du Nord<\/a>, which has a left luggage<\/a>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        1. Le Train Bleu<\/a> a fab. restaurant in the Gare de Lyon, I left it too late to book a table. I also want to visit the the Cafe d’Industrie<\/a>, north of Place de Bastille.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Enduring Paris bistros in the 7th arrondissement<\/a>  from Paris Insiders and the 11th arrondissement<\/a> from eater.com<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. The Fork on food in Paris<\/a> but this is a table booking site<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. Eating on the Seine<\/a>, or an hour cruise on the Seine<\/a> with time for a glass, or a carafe.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          Hotels?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          1. Hotel 31<\/a>, Marceau Bastille<\/a> and Hotel Paris Bastille<\/a>. On my return from Venice, I cam to the conclusion that many of the breakfasts were a bit light, and often excluded a cooked breakfast … so I checked up on Hotel 31’s breakfast<\/a> as that of the Marceau Bastille is very good. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            1. Walk along the Seine or possible visit the Orangerie<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Left Bank walk back to the hotel, see the Notre Dame and the left bank museums<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. Musee d’Orsai<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
            4. National Army Museum<\/a>, which charges for entry and or the National Assembly<\/a>, this needs to be booked and they advertise time slots up to nine weeks<\/a> in advance, but is only offering tickets on weekday evenings. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
            5. Sacre Coeur, by public transport, but entry can be booked<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            6. Another Art Gallery<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              Things to do<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

              1. Check out the Rough Guide’s top 20, includes the Pont Neuf<\/a> and Jardins de Luxembourg<\/a>, Mus\u00e9<\/b>e Rodin<\/a>, Left Bank Cafes, Pere Lachaise, and Mus\u00e9<\/b>e Picasso.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

              3. The Geographical Cure has an article on the impressionism trail in Paris<\/a>, which includes the Musee D’Orsay, there’s also Mus\u00e9<\/b>e de l’Orangerie<\/a> , on\u00a0 lower floor, Cezanne, Renior, Mattise, Piccasso, Derain and Soutine or MAM<\/a> which has a classic, movement orientated view of French modern art.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              4. One can tour the Paris’s Mus\u00e9<\/b>e d’Orsay<\/a>\u00a0while they themselves describe their collections<\/a> but perhaps the Orsay’s greatest claim is its building, an old train station, although this site\/page suggests 10 must see pictures<\/a>. Gemini has advice <\/a>on how busy the d’Orsay gets and tickets are best bought from the Museum<\/a> itself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

              10. A short cruise on the Seine, Vedettes de Paris<\/a>., there are others, listed at trip advisor<\/a>. Vedette de Paris is short, only 1 hour. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
              11. The Atelier des Lumi\u00e8res<\/a>, is the Paris version of fever, masterpieces fucked around with;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
