A good panic wasted. My upgrade from Yosemite to El Capitan failed with the failure to unpack error, which apple’s support communities suggest, outrageously, is due to 3rd party memory. Oops. I spent a whole day panicking about whether I’ll need to restore from my time machine backups. But it sorted itself out, and I have a nearly perfect working El Capitan build.
