Just back from a busy weekend in London, yesterday we visited the British Museum and Library yesterday, looking for John Rocque’s Map of London, which we didn’t find. We went to the Museum’s Enlightenment room and did find out that the British Library is planning a Maps Exhibition next month. Tuesday on the night of Obama’s election
I had travelled to the USA for some more training and so was in the USA for the day of the Presidential election. Last night was very quiet, I went to Kapps in Mountain View. I had left the office where a number of people were, oddly, watching the BBC web site report via a wall screen display. I had also enabled the facebook and multi-protocol chat applications on the ipod and discussed the elections with my son at home in the UK. This was pretty good …
Enhancing Google Maps
I have just updated my South Coast Travel public google map to include placemarks with links to the BBC and Met. Office weather reports. I am disappointed that they have no obvious weather icon and that the i icon is available in only one colour.
I did poke around the Google maps API pages and may take this further so that I can incorporate the page into www.davelevy.info, but if its like yahoo, this could be a bit difficult.
