I have created a fully hosted version of the blog here at davelevy.info and copied the articles from the original ‘canned’ wordpress blog. At the moment the old blog is still occupying the obvious URL of http://blog.davelevy.info.

Moving content between wordpress blogs is pretty simple; wordpress has an export and import functions however the 1and1 ‘canned’ blog is pretty old and the exported xml file needed some help.
On the advice of 1and1 support, I inserted the following line into the XML file
<wp:wxr_version>1.1</wp:wxr_version>immediately after the language property in the channel section.
