While out in New Cross on the #labourdoorstep, I had four interesting encounters.

the first is where one voter stated that the Labour Party was lazy and take their supporters for granted, fortunately we had two of the councillor candidates with us, who due to the fact that this was the first time they were standing were able to reassure the individual that things would change since two of the three New Cross candidates were new.

the second was from someone who asked if we would do better than last time; they were talking about the last Labour Government; it’s hard to make promises on behalf of others but I believe we will. It’s what Ed Miliband’s supporters in the party want, if they’d wanted continuity other candidates would have provided it.

I have met one person who said we should not have let Gordon Brown go. I don’t think he was joking.

I met one person who is using their three ballots for the three different left parties, although one was a personal vote. I couldn’t find anything to disagree with. (See my blog on the Euro poll), while I shall vote Labour, if you support a broad left, the choice between the LibDems and Greens is important.
