They’ve just had an election.
Things to note
- Me on e-voting and an article called, Byte the Bullet which reflects a debate at the ORG bienniel conference in 2019.
- Jason on 2014, and a press release on the 2014 system, signed by the U. of Michigan and the Open Rights Group., but it’s been a while. Here’s the full report.
- The Estonian Govt. claim the vote was free and fair, the loser’s don’t. This makes understanding the truth much harder as motives will be challenged.
- A paper, dated 2019, “Internet voting in Estonia 2005–2019: Evidence from eleven elections“, not so good on the IT security aspect and so I need to check the 2014 audit.
- An article by the speaker?, describing some of the features of the i-voting system. It links to a flyer, describing the system, how it keeps the vote secret and when it’s counted. This article Andres Sutt: Security of e-elections has always been a top priority; Sutt is a spokesperson for the Reform Party who won.
- The code has now been published. [ News | Github ], anyone can observe. Have they closed the gaps identified in 2014?
