Thunderbird, use thereof

This now seems pretty ubiquitous on my PC/Laptops since I moved my personal mail from Outlook to TB on my works machine to minimize errors. I have it installed on three systems, two windows and one Mac. I really need one set of filters, possibly most importantly to enforce deletions and filing decisions. Here are my notes.

Bar chart archive widget for wordpress

A friend showed me the blog at http://tatiyants.com/ which has an awesome archive widget. I want one. Fortunately Alex has documented how to build one, in an article called “How to create a bar chart archive widget in wordpress“.

This leaves me with how to install a widget, a quick google, takes me to here, “How to create a custom wordpress widget”.

While looking for this I also found, this at 3do labs, which points at the collapsing archives plugin.

Originally written on the death of my first XP system. My problems were compounded when I moved and with the expiry of Windows XP, I need to move my desktop systems on, to Laptops it seems! 😎

Mike Masnick writes a little article forecasting the engineers re-writing the single points of failure out of the internet. He entitles his article, Building A More Decentralized Internet: It’s Happening Faster Than People Realize. He cross references to two articles written by himself back in 2010, Operation Payback And Wikileaks Show The Battle Lines Are About Distributed & Open vs. Centralized & Closed and The Revolution Will Be Distributed: Wikileaks, Anonymous And How Little The Old Guard Realizes What’s Going On in which he, more accurately, recognises the current and future power of distributed and private networks. It should be remembered that these predictions all occurred before the Arab spring and the recent protests in Turkey and the state responses to the use of networks.
