Barcelona

Barcelona

I have now been to Barcelona on several occasions. My Rough Guide is so old that it needs replacing. This article was written mainly in the noughties and was updated during our visit to Valencia in 2009; we travelled through Barcelona to get their. Otherwise, Hotels, Airport and Things to Do, or have done.

Valancia

Valancia

We visited Valencia in Sept. 2009. One of the sights we visited was the Americas Cup port and museum. The showdown between Alinghi and BMW/Oracle will now take place off the port of Valencia in February 2010. You can see my pictures in this Valencia set on flickr. The page notes the 2010 America’s cup match which Oracle won 3-0 and my notes on how to get there, this an next time.

Alicante

I looked at traveling through Alicante on the way to Valencia.

There was very little flight flexibility, and the trains from Valencia started late on the Sunday, although an overnight stop might have been fun. Minutes after booking a trip via Barcelona, I had the http://www.flybe.com site pointed out there are three flights a day to Alicante. Maybe next time.

Madrid

Madrid

I have set up a google map called About Madrid, and I visited it in order to attend a NESSI Steering Committee in January 2008. This is the first time this century that I have been here, my previous visit was in the 1980’s. My few pictures are on flickr. I returned in Oct 2008, and populated the maps with some more landmarks. I’d like to return sometime without a business agenda. Here are my pictures!

Seville

Seville

I copied this across on 24th June 2013 and tarted it up a bit. It’s seven years since we visited. Some of these links will be old, maybe broken, but certainly out of date.  I first visited Seville just before the Easter of 2006. As ever I used the Rough Guide to Andalucia to plan the holiday and posted some of my pictures in a set at flickr. The featured picture is from the Patio de Donacellas in the Real Alcazar.
