I have a DIY project coming up which I need a time control on. I was pointed at some switches which can be controlled by a phone app called Tayu. …

- A site by them.
- A 3rd party video explaining the app.
- Allegedly, one can use ifttt to manage these switches. This gemini response points at a family of services called “Smart Life services”, which has an IFTTT interface/trigger.
- This is one of the switches I am thinking of buying and this one has wifi.
I wonder if there is a regionalisation dimension.
I bought a simple switch without WiFi. The wifi switches often require a subscription and there’s more to go wrong and the wiring is more complex.
The device being controlled also needs appropriate electrical control. i.e. on does not become off when there’s no power. 🤭
