Class Wargames decided to play W40K which set me thinking.

About boardgames and DnD again.

Boardgames

The W40K stuff took me towards the Battle of Actium. I found two games on Board Game Geek, and added them to my collection. One has probably gone, the other, Trireme seems available on the market, although the rules seem quite complicated. Here’s some model boats if we can find simpler different rules.

While reviewing the book, Class Wargames, I wrote this, “While looking at the realism of the games, Barbrook summarises Clauswitz’s essential components of good generalship as coup d’oeil, psyching the enemy, concentrating forces, outflanking and hot pursuit.” I wonder if they work for ancient naval battles.

I also found Final Decrees, which would be fun to work out how to play. Bureaucrats in a failing empire.

DnD

DnD Beyond still works, as does Hero Forge, but might be best to make a Bladesinger.
