I have developed a sudden interest in Lithuania, at the moment in its borders over time. Here are my notes.
Reading the Wikipedia article on its History, I would say five stages, tribal, mediaeval, the Grand Duchy, Russian & Soviet satellites/provinces, and post wende independence.
The grand duchy ended in 1795, and Lithuania became a province of the Russian Empire. The Grand Duchy at one time extended to the Black Sea.
