I decided to buy two of Leonid Afremov’s pictures which are being sold by the estate. It’s all quite odd as they have been behaving as if it’s a limited stock fire sale for several years. Anyway, I bought two over the last month at discounted prices although I’ll have to frame them. Here are some notes and links …

I wasn’t sure when I made the page which I had bought and referenced, Melody of the Night, which I also like and have published an image below. Memory Flames and Spirits by the Lake are the two I bought.

Memory Flames

Spirits by the Lake

I liked Melody of the Night, is now included in the slide show, see below. When I first made the page I wasn’t sure, and found a small quiet town. Actually, Alley by the River, was nice, I like how he does water, i.e. rivers, lakes and puddles.

I quite like, Mediterranean Mood, if I get a third, and there are others, but I don’t have the room, the one about the Harbour entrance and New Harbour in Copenhagen, Cafe in Berlin, but here is a collection of some I like, leeched from the sales site.

  1. These are studio pictures, they may have some of his originals left. The rush in the sales literature is about the prices offered; they can always make more, and mine smelt of paiint when opened.

You might want to check the size of picture offered. I thought mine might be too large for the space I have.

  2. I removed the following comment from the main page, “About the man, and their sales site, which if you use, I suggest you make a login, it might be easier to track delivery.” although their claim to be running out is getting more strident; perhaps they are.
