I attended a webinar on Ethereum, they argue they have extracted the block chain management functionality from bitcoin and implemented what they call a consensus machine. Here are some links that I was pointed at or found.

  2. https://www.augur.net/
  3. https://groupgnosis.com/

These are implementations on consensus implementations, and I may expand my notes on these as I play/experiment with them.

They moved from proof of work to proof of stake, was this early, I thought their avoidance of proof of work was a benefit. The Register comments on the xfer from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake.

I thought I read somewhere that

And here’s one of the things that piqued my interest, All the cool kids are doing ethereum now at techcrunch.

Here was a critique, “The road ahead for ethereum” from a blog on blockstack.org which has now gone. I found, this with the same title on Medium and  The History of Ethereum on Plus500. I also found “Blockchain: A Very Short History Of Ethereum Everyone Should Read” by Bernard Marr, a self proclaimed world famous futurologist.

I found Ethereum vs Solana: The Blockchain Showdown on Medium which talks of Solana as an alternative smart contract solution. I had not heard of Solana before.
