Sadly I have been looking to see what’s being said about Corruption and Anti-Corruption. Here are my links and notes. I have some links on management strategy, and some specifically on action plans inc. current advice from the MoJ. Interestingly, to me, the action plans share many ideas from risk management practices and IT Security controls that I have been working with for many years. … Continue reading “Corruption”
I have been thinking about how to get time and space in an office in the city & the west end; most providers are interested in very high option prices i.e. they expect a high usage of desk space. This isn’t what I need but here are my notes … Continue reading “Virtual Offices, for an occasional user”
I was thinking about business/IT strategy alignment and was reminded of the operational efficiency vs product excellence dichotomy that I have struggled with for years. I hadn’t realised it has one source, research by by Michael Treacy and Fred Wiersema. These theories came to be known as Value Disciplines and they included “customer intimacy” as a third value. The conclusion is that to win, you need to be best in class at one of the these values and good enough in the other two, lesson two is that you can’t be superlative in three and that doing it for two is hard. Otherwise, here are my notes and links. Continue reading “Value Discipines”

This page is not a request for donations; I am considering how to set up Pay Pal collections for others. This seems easier than one might expect. A three stage process mainly managed by Pay Pal. Open a non-profit account, use pay pal’s tools to generate the HTML, include it in your web page. Bosh! Loadsamoney, well, maybe not. Continue reading “Donating via Pay Pal”
I have been aware of this important insight into team management and motivation for years, but I need to use it as part of a presentation I am building. I say,
Strong Teams are based on a balanced blend of imperfect players.
And I found these links
The UK’s premier provider of residential broadband services. This page holds my notes on their Fair Usage policy as at Autumn 2011. The comment documents BT’s transition to true unlimited. The page is now pretty much out of date.
On the 25th July (2012?), I started to document the performance of the line at home. This is held, originally in the comments, and on transition to this platform as the final comments on this page. . Continue reading “BT Broadband”
