NWN Playing a Wizard

NWN Playing a Wizard

Some notes on Playing a Mage in the NWN Official Campaign. I made her an Evoker. An extra spell per level, but you lose “Summoning”. I have never played a wizard under wither V2 or V3 rules, and it’s really changed. I need to check up on the offence, defence, buffing, protection and counterspells. About the specialisation, despite losing summoning, neither Shades nor Mordenkian’s Sword are summoned, it would seem. This article contains broken Bioware links.

Binky Netzen

Binky Netzen

This is one of a series of NWN character notes. Binky is fighter/thief who travels with Mischa Waymeet in the NWN game, Shadow of Udrentide. I am not sure that the fighter/thief was such a good idea. See Of Fighter/Thieves @ http://forums.rpgforums.net. I discuss the difficulty in keeping up with the game since the scales are no longer exponential. (See also Playing a Rogue on this wiki.)I have still kept the classing at evens for the moment. i.e. until the end of Shadow of Udrentide. This will allow me to adopt a third class if I choose.

NWN Playing a Druid

I am taking a Druid through Shadows of Udrentide. There’s a couple of class specific quests which are quite nice. I have reached the Asabi Camp as a Druid/Barbarian/Shifter (7,1,1) and am having some difficulty. I notice that Ashtara has very few Druid’s scrolls and not that many heals or even cure critical. Actually he has them, its just I have no Gold and they’re expensive. In this page, I discuss the difficulty I find with the Druid, the weakness of the companion &the importance of the starting WIS. This page points at a number of URLs that may no longer be there.

Witches Wake

I am sorry I tried this, its very short, and an unfinished work in progress and has been so for a number of years, I don’t think we’re getting part two.

While I have not tried this with a pure play fighter class, I have never met such tough rats and Kobolds.

The story is too incomplete to put up with the constant replay of the fights against monsters that should be easier.

Configuring BG2

Other people’s wisdom

I have amended this snip as it came across. The ‘related posts’ plugin picks up cross references and so I have deleted references to articles on this wiki.

I copied a post from forgotten wars forums about managing the software build. I posted this on http://davelevy.info, but while tidying it up in April 2009, I uploaded it here BG2 Filesystems. I originally said “Snapshot & Fast Restores! – An article taken from the now defunct forgotton wars site. It’s about how once one has created a “vanilla” build, a safe snapshot copy can be taken quite economically in terms of time & space.” It was written by someone who called themselves Michel.

How to have two copies of BG2 on one system! at Pocket Plane Group.

BG2 Multiplayer

These notes were originally created in 2008/2009. I copied them across to this wiki in 2013. Many of the links referred to are no longer available.

This article is about how to run BG2 on an early windows build in multiplayer mode, it is quite long. I marked this article as deprecated today.

I want to run BG2 multiplayer across my network hub. There seems to be a problem with local i.e. 192.168.0.0 addresses. This may be by design, although I can’t for the life of me think why. This research will involve understanding the game software and the hub, not to mention the various firewalls involved.

NWN Rolgan’s Trial

Rolgan’s Trial is a quest in the Neverwinter Nights Official Campaign. This text is mainly taken from cheat-da-game.

This is a real tricky quest, and I haven’t been able to complete it perfectly, though I have tried very hard, I’m pretty sure there is no way to complete it perfectly.

He was wrong, and discovered so below. You get this quest in the Temple of Tyr, where you learn about the fate of Rolgan, a man who killed one of the army’s soldiers. Your job is to represent him, and prove that he is innocent.

The Last Inn

This is a NWN community written module. I downloaded this and have tried to play it twice with a pre-made wizard character. In both games after a time, all the NPC’s in the village turn hostile, won’t talk and can’t be damaged. You can’t get the next quest hints. I may try and carry on, to see if this is a hint that you shouldn’t be returning to the village, but maybe not.
